A list of feature changes in recent versions of VedaCMS

The features below are not yet implemented, but are planned for future releases of VedaCMS.

  • Integrated Mobile Site
    An integrated mobile version of your site that is automatically generated and accessed from a new 'mobile' subdirectory of your web site. You will be able to specify which pages of your regular website are or are not included on this moble version.
  • Multiple Photo Galleries
    The ability for you to create and manage more than one photo gallery
  • Additional Gallery Displays
    Additional photo viewer styles to choose from for your gallery page.
  • Enhanced Membership Management
    Ability to temporarily suspend a membership without deleting them completely
  • Enhanced Subscriber Management
    Ability to move or copy subscribers to other mailing lists
  • Enhanced Photo Watermarking
    Ability to use an image instead of text to watermark your photos on upload. Also regenerate existing gallery photos when watermark changes are made in the settings area.
  • Disable Website
    Ability to temporarily disable website from within the CMS and set a custom message visitors see while the website is offline.

VedaCMS Version Changelog

Below you'll find a list of changes and features additions made to VedaCMS since version 6.0.

  • Version 6.3, November 9th, 2009
    • Upgraded the WYSIWYG Fckeditor Editor to version 2.6.5
    • Separated out custom editor configuration to make fckeditor upgrades more seamless in the future
    • Added new editor tool that allows admin to generate and insert link to VedaCMS calendar
    • Added editor 'Templates' that allows insertion of pre-coded content blocks like a rates table, horizontal wishlist and left/right floating stats box
    • Updated 'insert html block' editor tool and changed editor icon
    • Added additional web safe fonts to the page editor font drop down list
    • Added a new editor tool that allows you to insert a media player that wil play flash (.flv) or audio files
    • Ability to upload audio and flash (.flv) files through the media player tool in the editor
    • Implemented a session expiration warning so users know when they are about to be logged out due to inactivity
    • BUGFIX: Changed editor to not automatically convert html entities that was breaking html linking code displayed in textareas
  • Version 6.2, November 2nd, 2009
    • Added 'Import Subscriber' feature to mailer subscriber list page
  • Version 6.1, October 26th, 2009
    • New authentication and session handling for CMS admin and website members
    • BUGFIX: New session handling should solve random 'cannot regenerate session ID' erros
  • Version 6.0 (major release), September 28th, 2009
    • Implemented a membership request form that visitors can use to send member requests
    • Added approve/deny pending memberships feature to CMS members area
    • Added visitor notification logic on admin approve or deny of memberships
    • Updated membership security
    • Redesigned settings page and added new feature sections
    • Redesigned photo tool layout
    • Added integrated blog capabilities to CMS
    • Added separate mailing list for members only (automatically generated from members table)
    • Admin is now notified when a new subscriber joins a mailing list
